What a great day Friday was! Please check your Fresh Grade portfolios for some updates of our learning and project work on Friday.
We started off our morning with a school assembly where we were led by two intermediate leaders in highlighting work being done over the past month and celebrating some of our learners who were receiving SOAR awards. Safe, Accountable, Organized and Responsible. After recess, we begun working with a grade 4 or 5 partner in embarking on a 20 hour passion project. This will be a collaboaritve piece where learners will find a common interest to learn more about, research or learn how to do someting. Please read more on my personal blog page.
Right before recess, we had a surprise dance party in the primary wing. All of a sudden we heard music and 'DANCE PARTY' yelled down the hallway. We joined seven other classes in dancing and laughing before lunch time for a short dance break. This was a memorable experience!
During the afternoon, we followed our interests in learning more about Force & Motion. We are big into noticing, spotting and creating ramps. We went outside and worked in small groups to find and test out different ramps on our playground. Each group worked with an iPad to document the ramps they found by taking photographs and a toy car to test out how steep each ramp was. During our play exploration time, some learners chose to create iPad collages with the photographs they had taken outside. Check Fresh Grade to see these great collages of different found ramps. A lot of collaboration, observing and car zooming was going on!
What a great way to end a positive week.
