We started off our day with morning exploration. We were invited to draw portraits of ourselves as Kings and Queens this morning, using oil pastels. After outdoor play, we came in for the Ophelia Project. Which is a Social Skills program that focuses on positive relationships, anti-bullying, confidence and play for young children. We will be taking part in this project for this term with all the kindergarten children. Our children were divided up in to a male group and a female group, with stories that are relatable to each gender. Our focus today was surrounding yourself with people who make yourself feel good about yourself. The story involved an aggressor and a target. We talked a lot about what to do if you are the target, and different strategies you can use. We then went to the gym, with all our kindergarten friends, for primary stations. After lunch and outdoor play, we came in for show and tell and literacy choice time. We then listened to the Emperor's New clothes story to tie in to our castle study. We drew our favourite part in the story. We went outside for exploration time, and practiced spelling our names with found nature items.
