We had a great visit to Swan Lake to see the snakes. As we arrived, in the drizzling rain, we met in the parking lot. Thank you so much to all the parents who were able to join us today and drive all of the children. Merci! We walked down the trail to the nature house as a group. We were greeted by seeing a bald eagle high up in one of the trees close by. This was amazing! We then walked down a path towards the lake and went out on one of the docks. We came in to the Nature House just before to have a little exploration time because there are so many neat things to do and see! We then had Mme Renee present to us. We learned a lot more about Snakes. We got to touch and meet four real live snakes. One gardener snake, one corn snake, one milk snake and one python. The children loved seeing the different snakes and feeling them. We got to roll out a huge poster of the longest snake in the world, it was longer than the room! We also got to see bones that are inside the snakes body and lots of snake skin. We did some movement activities and had time for questions. It was a wonderful hour all about snakes. We then had some more time to look and explore around the nature house before walking back through the trail to the parking lot. When we returned to school, we drew what we found interesting or loved seeing. It was a lovely morning!
