You are never going to guess what happened to us today in kindergarten. This afternoon, Mme Smith brought in a mystery package that had been delivered to the school for US! We could not believe it. We wondered where it came from, who sent it and what could be in it! As we read the package, lots of us guessed it must be from the NORTH POLE, and who could have sent it? Santa we thought! As we opened, we noticed a box with an elf on it. We opened up the box and found a small elf and a story. We read the story and discovered that the Elf was here to stay until Christmas and that he was going to watch us to see how we were doing and report back to Santa. We could not believe it!!!! Santa had mailed us a parcel with an elf and a story! Amazing! As we read, we learned we had to name him, and that he leaves each night and returns in the morning to a new spot. Each morning we will have to find where he is in our classroom. There were a couple rules: we cannot touch him or he might lose his magic and not be able to fly back to the north pole, and that he cannot talk to us (just listen). We were SO excited and started to come up with names. Some of the names: Smarthy, Frost, Prancer, Lutin (elf), Lulu, Fancy-Elf, Elfie...etc. We ended up voting and narrowing it down to his name Neige, which means snow in French.
We cannot wait to see where he will be in the classroom tomorrow!
